Module – Initial Orientation
Training and Evaluation OF Drivers and Owner Operators
As I have emphasized before, Driver training is the most important aspect of establishing a safety conscious carrier. This module provides the most detailed guide and policies necessary to on-board new drivers.
How to conduct Driver on-boarding (initial orientation), training (inspection, maintenance, reporting) and evaluation, along with the policies, forms, agreements and letters which are required for hiring and retention. On starting, it's mandatory to familiarize a Driver with the established Policies and provide instruction on how to respond through various situations on the road.

Note: USA Operational provisions
Under-21 age drivers will be allowed to operate trucks in interstate commerce under an “Apprenticeship Pilot Program.” The younger drivers will be paired in the cab with an experienced driver-mentor and required to successfully complete 120-hour and a 280-hour probationary periods focused on different aspects of truck driving. Operations will take place in commercial motor vehicles equipped with advanced safety technologies, similar to what was proposed in the Drive-SAFE Act. The legislation limits the apprenticeship program to 3,000 participants at any one time.
